hello,
does anybody have bin file for the BMZB 16195699 3.8 auto vr commodore 1994/5
there is one that comes with MemcalID tool but that one is not correct, :comp: i have tried and there are lot of differences between it and my Bin which i pulled using OSE Flash

i am trying to link xdf with adx for logging and just want to see if there are any errors or differences in my bin file because it doesnt load up in flash tool but can read it in tuner pro

Arduino usb to serial is working just fine for tuner pro so looks like technology is about to make things alot easier for Tuner Pro

will post videos here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBXrCd0T3Mw

thanks

ose flash tool will include the ram and eeprom areas, the bin the memcal id tool might have both those areas blanked out. If all the differences are at the start of the file, then I'd say your still good.

yeah thats right, the bin looks ok - its just junk at the start and you can remove it or leave it there. the ecm wont access that part of the chip as it'll use its internal ram and eeprom at those locations. Do note that there is a bug in the factory software and it corrupts the very last byte or two of the bin, too. look at the memcal tool file and trust that it's last two bytes are right, fix yours up if you need too, but probably you can just start with the memcal tool file anyway.

the factory memcal cant be written to over aldl, you need an eraser and programmer and need to do it outside of the ecm. you need the nvram kit hardware to in car.

not sure what your doing with that aldl, it looks like the wrong voltage and no resistor to even do the cheap style.

I suggest you have a look at the hardware and software guide in the FAQ (see the link up near the top right).

thanks,

i have read through all the info on this site, not really looking at doing alot of tuning, i have Pacemaker extractors with center muffler removed and it spins wheels with ease (caution when wet).
i have bought the aldl cable and do use it, this arduino stuff is just what i am experimenting with at the moment because i have alot of scan tools but none of them support my car.
i normally just fix cars and find electrical faults so i understand this stuff is not the same as your cables and moates equipment.

i have gm software but tech1 is out of my reach, just looking for something to help me work on my car, program and upgrade parts.
Tuner pro is good but info is not all there or correct.

thanks

for vr auto you should run 11p for the best definitions, but you need the nvram for realtime. for tech 1 functionality there is some information around but not everything.

i was using $11 and the Vr V6 ADX that came with tuner pro when i bought the cable. went through the info linking both together as i learned more about how all this works.

now i am using the VR_$11_v1.05-tp5 adx, i have the 11P files but they are way off and since i am only stock setup there is alot i dont need.

im slowly working through changing Values and trying to get everything reading properly linking XDF to ADX.

thanks for all the work you have done so far on all this stuff, makes things alot easier for people like me.

Hey mate just one question about this (wrong voltage), doesnt the serial data run at 5v ? 1 wire goes to ground and Tx twisted with Rx to pin 9 on aldl ?
i was going off Snap On info

hmm its been years and I had it in my head it was 12v. according to https://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl8192/8192hw.htm its only 12v for 160 baud and is 5v for 8192.
