Wow been awhile since an update.

Had one more meeting in April and didn't wreck the car but a couple of weeks later i took the guards and doors off, i had a good look at the pillars and sills and concluded shes fucked after four seasons of more hits than a porn site.

Went to prizegiving half cut, picked up the Production Saloon Battler Cup which kept getting grabbed off me and handed back with various concoctions in it.

Picked up this for a box of Steinlager

Genuine GTS minus motor/box and wheels - saved me ripping them out.

After what seems like an eternity of scraping, grinding, drilling, welding, sanding etc. not to mention endless interruptions and zero budget, i've peeled it all back , cut it off if not needed and plug and seam welded from the rear suspension pickups to the front sway bar mounts, got the inside and firewall forward etch primed today, I should get some colour on that in the next couple of nights then it'll be time to get everything swapped over from the old car.

And another hour or so on Sunday - usually banned from the shed for family day but a couple of mates decided Fathers day is "do whatever the fuck we like and get away with it day" - then a few well earned bourbons, the missus was cool about it

LOOKS cleaner - after a bit of effort - pictures don't convey smell - it reeked of old damp socks and unwashed rotting flesh when i got it home.

Unsure of colour yet, probably red & white again unless a potential sponsor shows up waving cash wanting it there colours, i used the silver 2k inside in the hope it'll be easier to clean and more durable.

Went scrounging at a mates and came home with 3/4's of a StreetStock rear bumper and a bit of RHS, dug up some bits of my own amd braced up the pillars so the chassis wouldn't ( hopefully ) walk around and twist when i cut the roof off.

That was the previous week, got the cage all cleaned up and tidied up a few welds that were a prick when i built it in the car.
This week i had a few days off - prepped and painted the cage with some paint leftover from last season, next day drilled out some spotwelds and cut the roof off, the missus had a mate over and with all the guys at work i grabbed them to lift it off and outta the way - that was easy ...........now lets lift the cage in (need sore back smiley) grunted, heaved, shoved and cursed and got it shoehorned in with a bit of RSB method then popped the roof back on while we were still standing. Thanks Girls - chick power =D>
