I never did and never had an issue that I was aware off.

If it really bothers you, just use a screw driver and pry the needle rollers/cage out of the housing.

Any idea on cleaning the valley?

It really depends on how far you want to go. It's fairly well sealed from the bottom end. I'd pull the push rods, lay some rags in the valley to soak shit up and get in there with some sort of cleaner and brush and when you are all done use a vacuum cleaner to get any debris from the nooks and crannies (just don't run it over the coolant ports).

I never bothered either and my engine machinist also just hot tanked the block with the bearing still in there. It's still there today, so is the one in the VR. Never had them come out.

The best thing to wash down the crud is lacquer thinners. dop the oil, wash it down with a stiff brush and thinners allowing what you can to drain out then a short oil change interval.

Hello team,

Finally got the car running today after completing valley gaskets.
Disappointment hits me when I started the car and to see its still rough at idle 700ish rpm.

I decided to pull the vac line off the adjustable fuel reg, and it seems to not be as jumpy / rough, or uneven..

Q: how could I eliminate the fuel reg with out buying a new one yet?
