OMG ... In 89 I did a boat hauler out of a 64 long bed step side dually with BBC/TH400/Ford 9" for motivation, damn near the same color, too much of it!

For the most part it was all green and chrome with white interior, wasn't my money ...

Looks good and fun, wish I was digging in it with ya, so miss doing that shit ...

I do like a nice bright green.

I originally thought the intake was going to be a little too much green so I figured if it was, I would just blast it back to satin. It turned out nicer than I expected. It is the color of money

I've got a 632" BBC going together with the new 3.8L Whipple. I hope to be dynoing that in the next couple months.

I use them on early LS blocks that aren't drilled and tapped for a guide.

Ah that's neat! I've never worked on LS engines but have seen plenty of pics on them on the net and they all had from memory just a straight chain.

I have been thinking up of a solution for the Buick 6 when running a Rollmaster double chain but no great solution comes to mind. I have heard of a few people snap the Rollmaster chains pretty quick on them and it seems to happen at idle with big cams, so my guess is chain whip/resonance with certain cam/valve train combos.

The later model wide stock damper does sort of fit. Covers about 3/4 of the chain width but offset to the front I think? Might help but hard to be confident as the spring is rather weak for something of a wild build.

The late model LS3 damper is a bit neater but scares me a bit. As you noted, wide LC larger duration cams do shake the chain at low speeds so I stick with the fixed damper. Here's a pic of the LS3 damper.

the factory dampener is the biggest piece of shit ever made.

you can pull apart of a stock motor at 40k km's and find them broken. the old fixed unit never has an issue.

It just looks like a weak POS!

Must be the Engineered Lifespan component ...
