Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I have map, mat, wideband, coolant, tps. Can't see duty cycle move or rpm move.

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I've videoed a quick start attempt.
Hopefully it comes through.
I was ultra careful when rewiring. I'll double check tho.
Are there any flags that need to be set or unset when changing to DIS?

Yeah you're trigger is not working at all. You need RPM before anything else will happen. Has anything changed since this pic? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8086&start=10#p120778 Its way too far away. I don't know if there is also a wiring problem. I dont suppose you have a scope to see what voltages are coming off the reluctor? Can you show your wiring reluctor to module and, what pinouts you have for module to ecu? Also check power and ground at the ignition module. Which ignition module are you using?
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I swapped the polarity over for the crank pick up and it straight away showed rpm and tried to start. It's now showing nothing again.
I suspect it's a shit signal to the module or a poor pick-up off the actual wheel itself.
I got the same ignition module off the 202 thread in another section. Holden Jackaroo I believe it's off.
I'll run a couple of new wires from the sensor to the module and try again tomorrow. If this catches and starts the neighbours (and wife) will have plenty to say as it's currently straight piped

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
Yeah thats more the distance you want. now how thick is that trigger disk? among other things I was having trouble at 4mm (though my mates works fine at that size), and my new one is 5mm. Now the signal is strong. is it the 3 pin reluctor connector?
I found the VT commodore rear ABS sensor worked better than the subaru tin can sensor similar looking to the one you have there. I think the metal case might somehow spread and reduce the signal compared to the I piece bar the ABS sensor has. I did get it to fire with the 4mm disk and that type of sensor but I couldnt get it to trigger properly or run in a driveable kind of way. The one I have on there now is this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/325137232269 but the OEM ones I pulled off wrecks also worked fine. I cut the car side abs plugs off the wrecks too.

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I purchased the whole kit from sonic injection and tbh it hasn't filled me with confidence thus far. I've had to modify both the wheel and sensor bracket to get it to where it is.
I believe the sensor is a ba falcon type (2 wires)
Thankfully I have a vy v6 commodore surplus to needs sitting in my yard. Guess I'm picking the abs sensor tomorrow and trying that.
Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I should be clear, when I said 3 pin I meant at the ignition module end, all reluctors are 2 pin and if they are 3 pin they are not reluctors they hall effect. I don't want anyone to start thinking there are 3 pin reluctors out there. That was poor wording my part.

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
I now have consistent rpm and fuel duty while cranking.
When I crank it isn't trying to start as such, but popping and occasional backfire. If it was an old distributor I'd say it was 180 out.

Re: Converting 202 to DIS
try swapping the polarity around again, maybe its triggering between notches.
