I don't think the i41 means anything, I have a P08 that says i47 there, and two P04s with c39 and i65

That's definitely weird. That NHTSA document is strictly about US market, GM branded cars though, and those Isuzu modules didn't come into use until around 2001? Maybe it's some Delphi naming scheme that they stuck with for 3rd parties when they switched to the Pxx naming for the GM parts?

Yeah that one was 2000-2004 and was used in the USA. It is Isuzu but from a time when GM had a large stake of Isuzu, which is how a Delphi PCM was used there.

The PDF specifically mentions it in context of the P04, so I guess there is something to it.

so to attempt reading a P04, do I need to download a beta version of PCM hammer, or just the latest version? I'd like to give it a try on my 03 Gran Damn.

You need to download the latest development version. Either compile it yourself or you can download a zip from github but you need to be logged in. Its at https://github.com/LegacyNsfw/PcmHacks/ under actions, click the title of the top one, and there is a 5.08mb zip down the bottom to download.

read was a success, and quite fast as well. also, FWIW, this was an in car read, not a bench read. if there's anything I can do to assist in gaining write capability I'm more than happy to do so.

ejs262,

Thank you for letting us know it worked and in car as well!

I don't know where the PCM is located in the Grand AM, I think it's buried under the dash, thus likely not possible without removing it, it's not that important, don't pull it out unless it's super simple ...

However, If you can see the label on that PCM would you please post the Service Number, maybe you can stick your phone in there and snap a pic of the label??

It's nice to have Service Numbers with the OsID, it helps us build an accurate OsID list, the OsID list is how PCMHammer knows what PCM it's working with.

Thank you!

-Enjoy

Hmm, me thinks your voltage is a LITTLE low:
[11:13:02:997] Voltage is: 0.20V
Or, perhaps there is a glitch in the software?
