Ford AU eec-v pcm .bin read options in 2023
So I know this pcm is old af and well covered by some vendors. But just wondering what options there are to do a read/write on these either thru the obd2 port or j3 port. I tried looking for a j3 adaptor of some sort that I could use to pull the stock .bin with but didn't come up with much. Just playing around with some paddock bash cars really. Mine holds 1st gear but some of the others won't. Just basic stuff like that. So buying hpt credits and hundered of dollars worth of gear isn't my preference as the whole cars were only 100 or so each anyway

I am also interested in direct reading of these PCM's
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

I use my clone Kess & read them on the bench with just 8 wires on pcm harness connector used.

Do you know which clone your using? They aren't all equal unfortunately. Heard the pcmflash stuff works too but also idk which one actually works. Been trying to find a decent vcm2/3 for ages can't seem to find a sp-177c dual board clone that will actually work not some vcxnano rubbish in a vcm2 case.VX L67 Getrag wrote:I use my clone Kess & read them on the bench with just 8 wires on pcm harness connector used.

Can either got to Ford or just choose the protocols, being 233 & 242 they've been supported for ages so I think any of the kess clones would do it!

Yeah okay I just had a quick look and they have come down a fair bit since I last looked for ~$90 that could definitely be a contender. I guess you use that to flash and tunerpro to edit?
I have a burn2 with a bunch of adapters so it's possible I have the ones needed for eec I just never payed any notice to them so when im home ill look into that first.

Yeah it can all over comms & just use tunerpro to edit & there was a good definition list for TIperformance.

Update on this. So my super quality aliexpress buy finally showed up after getting lost in the post. They threw in Malware on the software CD at no extra charge so that was nice of them.
But managed to hook it all up and get it working. Tested it on a Toyota 86 seems to work well. Also did a ms43 BMW pcm on bench harness so im impressed it worked at all tbh.
The only AU I have here atm is a Manual E-Gas Ute. The Kess can ID the HW as been 2R23XA and SW as NGICA22.HEX but cant seem to read the ecu while its in the car. I haven't made a bench loom for one yet. VX L67 some details on yours would be handy and save some time aswell. But for ~$85 bucks I cant complain to much
