Guys,
A general question, a friend of mine is thinking of swapping an LS engine in his late model vehicle. It currently has a 6cyl and is subject to OBDII emissions inspection. It's a PA vehicle. If he does the swap the ECU vin won't match the tag.
So, those of you who might know, is this going to be an issue with inspection. Does he need to change the vin number in the ECU. Never thought of this because most swaps are in older classic cars. Or is it even something to worry about as long as it passes emissions.
Thanks
Tom

Re: Late model LS Swap
Since no one has jumped in here yet...
IF the swap is allowed per your state's laws, then changing the VIN is pretty easy.
Both PCM Hammer and LSDroid can accomplish that.

Re: Late model LS Swap
So, it's more about the state allowing it. Thank you for the reply.
