As title states tossing up options with auto trans setups and u fully built 4l60e will prob struggle with the torque, rpm and weight of my vs so was interested if anyone has fitted a 4l80e. I know I would need to adjust wiring to suit as pinout is different but would the 424 ecu still control it fine?

Ive seen this done on vt to vz ls1 commodores.
But never on a delco ecu. Its turbo pattern the box so will bolt to holden v8
But if to a v6 i rekon would need some kinda spacer adaptor plate
let us know how you go.
I have seen built 4l80 that has been converted to full manual so no electrics also
6l80 would be nice even behind a v6 and they can hold a little bit of hp in standard form. Not as much as a 4l80e but yeah
Why gm built such a pos the 4l60e is beyond me

I know, right?

In the VN-VS era the manual vs the auto is one of those things that either make you dislike the cars or love them. The 4l60 class of auto was such a letdown and really made the car feel like another fairlane but with no reliability or consistency to boot.

Then you drive something like a EA falcon of the time with it's 3 speed BW auto and it was miles better than the 4l60 and felt very sporty despite being one gear less.

A 6 speed auto would be nice behind the v6, I feel being more revvy the 6 speed would really help get more out of the v6 than a 4 speed.

you'd have to look at the wiring and solenoid operation, but id doubt you could operate the 6 speed with 4 speed delco.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes car is v8 but with new engine combo going to make 570+hp and 8k+ shifts I feel like spending to extra on my alreqdy basically built 4l60 still won't last when a 4l80 would handle it near standard. Yes I have seen many people done 4l80 in vt - vz and most by the patch loom to do so. I'm happy to swap the pin outs to make work but it's more the issue with the twin speed sensors in the 4l80e not sure what to do with that senario

Maybe a stand alone trans controller might be the way to go.

8k in a 4L60 is asking for a leg amputation lol.

yeah i dont feel it would hold up with what i plan on putting it threw even with major upgrades. Main question im struggling to find is what i can do with the speed sensors as i see people having issues when they try to run just the rear sensor, not sure if i just just run the front sensor of both spliced together.

PS anyone after a 4l60e and 3500 convertor i have 1 for sale was all built for 550 hp in my grange
