One of my tasks I want to achive is to force a vin to the E67 from a P59, 2004 Silverado. I have a gen 4 engine in my gen 3 Silverado.
We've come full circle lol.

Something like this.
Look for the lowest price and quality. They seems all the same with different pricing.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3302826 ... ZhiaDM15zP

obdx might work, if you have the drivers and dll installed.
If installed correctly Universal patcher and pcmhammer should list it as available device, in j2534 section.

I just ordered this one VXDIAG VCX Nano Multiple GDS2 and TIS2WEB Diagnostic/Programming System for GM/Opel

Now with my luck a file will appear in https://github.com/OBDXPro/J2534/tree/m ... 20Pro%20VX and I won't need the new one LOL.

You`d better cancel the order or return it. It is known to not work correctly, even pcmhammer have some issues with it and drivers are nightmare to configure.

I had an issue with my VCXnano. It soft bricked my heads up display module. Had to pull the entire dash out of the car to get to it so I could send it off to Tazzi to recover it. Nightmare job. I threw mine in the bin after that. MDI is the go.

MDIs are certainly rock solid. It was what I used to develop any commercial applications with before OBDX was formed.

Seems like the VXDIAG VCX nano is a mixed bag of success and failure. I'll keep it anyway, can't own too many tools. I'll play with it for a while then get the MDI. I expected to burn through some cash during this learning process.

What is a good way to see if BCM is on the bus?

I'm probably going to gradually acquire all computer controlled modules and electronic components related to hvac, instruments, window controls, etc.. I don't know enough yet to know what I need to know to know if I'm going to be able to keep class 2 stuff. I'm not even sure what OS I should be targeting yet. I see that the 08 Trailblazer has a mess of class 2 connections on the wiring diagrams, and also GMLAN connections. I imagine that's OS specific. At minimum I'm looking for gen 4 for the crank & cam because, LS3, and T42 tcm because, 4L80.

Does anyone happen to know if the 2007 E67 will accept a VIN from 2008 E38? I happen to already have HPT license for an E38 VIN. I should probably hunt down an E38 this weekend while I'm at the yard searching for T42 and throttle pedal. Gonna grab an instrument cluster too.

You might want to consider looking into DPS and sniff a few sessions. A bit of info here as to some of its capabilities. https://www.cameraloops.com/gm-info/gm_dps/
