G'day guys, as the heading says how do i go about removing Vats o this PCM/ECU

Yes supercharged V6 auto. I would have thought the procedure for removing vats would be the same

Simplest way
Read bin file from memcal, identify matching XDF and turn VATS off in bin file, erase memcal with UV eraser and then burn new bin file onto the memcal.

There are other ways that involve replacing chip with an EEPROM or NVRAM.

Alternatively find someone on here that can do it for you

Looking at the CNPR3211 bin file and $A5C XDF I see a security flag. Maybe turn that off. Posting the bin is a good suggestion.

Have to try and get it connected to the reader/programmer. Didn't realize the eeprom was soldered to the socket. Will try and get it working tomorrow and go from there. Is that CNPR3211 the file that should be on that chip?

No that one is for the HSV. Have you got the Memcal ID tool? Download it from this site. If the memcal is factory it should still have the number on it and use the bin file and XDF from the Memcal ID program with TunerPro to look thru it.

You can make up an adapter with a small piece of vero board and a couple of rows of pins so that you can plug the memcal in to an adaptor and the adaptor in to the programmer so that you dont need to pull the chip off an risk damage.

You can use the board whole, or cut it down with a hack saw to chip size. Cut the traces with a knife so they dont make contact Then for the pins on one side dont push it right in to the track and tack some solder on the side of the board with the trace. Then on the other side do it normally.

Something like this shape should give you the idea. Cut the green outline right through, the green trace down the middle with the knife to cut the track, the rows of pins in red - outer pair on one side of the board, inner pair on the other.
