d1998a dfi module or v6 rodeo module
Re: d1998a dfi module or v6 rodeo module
What motor is this mounted to? Do you have space to mount the vn v6 trigger wheels on the front of the crank pulley? With the jackaroo setup, I used a 5mm thick trigger wheel so my feeling is that 1.5mm may be too thin? The vn v6 system is nice to work with on account of the hall effect sensors, but the jackaroo will be fine when you you get past the fussy setup.

It's a fwd v6. So while I have the room technically. By the time I mount the trigger wheel then a monster of a bracket to hold the CAS it will be sitting I spot likey to get knocked around. I've managed to get the teeth just over 3mm wide but that's all the space I have to work with atm. Yeah I don't like the idea of trying to get the 3 different spaced teeth synced up off the cam somehow to the 18 teeth on the crank that sounds like just as much mucking around

I'm about to try the wider tooth setup and see how that goes

Okay this might seem like a dumb question.
But does anyone know the order of the outputs of the d1998a module for the coil placement. I don't think these could have been off the module but which output from the dfi fires 1st 2nd and 3rd

Awesome thanks for that. The coil numbers indicated that was the case but wanted to make sure
Re: d1998a dfi module or v6 rodeo module
Does the V6 you are fitting it to have the same firing order as the jackaroo v6?

Yeah apparently they are both 123456 firing order. I'm spending ages welding then grinding back each tooth to get the dimensions exactly right just scaled down off the original drawing. Other then that I have another CAS to try that's abit smaller and easier to fit for a ford zetec motor

Re: d1998a dfi module or v6 rodeo module
Well neither of those worked. If anything it's worse then when it was just 1mm wide. Took forever to hand file finish it to exactly the template just scaled down. I can only fit a 70mm diameter wheel in the space I have. Is that some of the problem the wheel diameter been so small?
It's now acting kinda strange in that when you first hit the key it shows 250 to 350 rpm cranking which is about right then as soon as it fires it runs for a second then shows 0 rpm from then on. but if you wait 5 or so seconds and try again it will do the same thing. I'm not really sure where to go from here with it as any aftermarket ECU would work with how it is currently

My wheel on the rb30 is 75mm. Slots do have to be very accurate. I used an AU sensor which does not have any in built filtering. Hope you get it there. Post some pics, might help.
