start with making sure you have the echo interface setting turned on. Thats the most of peoples problems. Then check you have the right matching adx file for whats on the car. Then if you're still having problems remove the BCM while your logging and tuneing to solve chatter problems. You'll get error codes as you tune but they'll go away when you plug the bcm back in when youre done.

cable echo is on in the config tab is that the only place you need to check?
im using the1s adx xdf ect for vy s/c
and by disconnect bcm you mean totally disconnect it or just remove comms wire?

it depends if you're using oseplugin or not (you would be for realtime). The setting is in oseplugin. There is also one in the adx, but you dont need to worry about that one, just leave it as is. The purpose of disconnecting the BCM is to stop its 'heartbeat' communication on the bus which all modules on the car use for timing when to send their messages, so by stopping the BCM heartbeat the bus goes silent so the logging can work. You can unplug it, or just the comms wire, putting a switch on the comms wire is another option if you want to be able to easily do it whenever you want. You'll need to make sure VATs is off while tuneing too as the BCM wont be able to give the security OK.
