no the turbo motor has been taken out, thats the old motor that used to be in it before i went to turbo.... it made 200hp at the wheels a few years back, so going back to that configuration plus adding some nitrous!

well its been a long time since updating this thread ..... so after the above posted video of the burnout before Gunnedah, we went to Gunnedah, first run N/A to make sure the tune was all good, then we went 50hp shot of nos, all good, picked up nearly half a second over the 1/8th (8.15) then with it all still looking good we stepped it up to 80hp shot ... took off well, was keeping up with the car in the other lane that ended up running a 7.6 or something like that, anyways about 3/4 track it started to sound flat ..... end result is below....

it also obviously got some of that metal into the bearings, they are all pretty much like this one below, thankfully with a light linish the crank should be fine, but the motors toast!

we got The1 to flow test the injectors hoping we'd find that cylinder was lean, but it wasn't there was no more than about 4-5% difference from memory, so we can only assume that the fogger nozzle didn't distribute it evenly to the cylinders, but we have run almost 160-180hp shots in this motor before with the same setup just in a different car, so at a bit of a loss as to what went wrong.

The story gets worse though, I decided we needed to race and as I don't have a car ready and my brother doesn't have a motor I suggested we put the turbo 202 back into the gemini for march Gunnedah .... so we did, all going well, fired it up and it was running but missing, turns out one of the 2000cc injectors I recently bought for it is now not opening ..... hopefully that's just the result of dried out fuel, and I can free it up, so anyways we put the old 800cc injectors in and off it went running ok ....

gave it a few revs and could heard a funny noise, as it was running with no turbo it was pretty loud and so we decided to fit the turbo and dump pipe so then we could better understand the noise..... end result sounds like its done a big end bearing :(

yet to be confirmed but it sounds pretty much like what it is, and its certainly not a loose rocker or anything like that ..... so its a bit of a mystery, this motor was working perfectly before removed, and its just been sitting ... needless to say its not going to Gunnedah in march!

plan is to pull the motor and assess the damage, hopefully between it and the NOS 202 we might be able to make one good one .... time will tell.

brother plans to go down the turbo route with this thing in the long term, so we'll build the motor to suit that setup.
