Chip Torque Read

Post by ToyHicko »

Hi

I've been able to get my hands on a Chip Torque Memcal to suit a N13 but is unknown what engine it suits so I was hoping to read the chip to comfirm MPI for TBI. So far i have been unable to read the chip there is a small circuit board in place of the Eprom. Is there anyway of being able to read the information or the cal packs to comfirm MPI or TBI atleast.

Cheers

Put it in a modded 808 and use vl400s flash tool to extract bin ,might work. Also ive read these before using 27c 512 settings.

Here the the read i got off the chip as a 27C512. To me it looks like it's been scrambled or corrupted.

I'll have to try flash tools to see if i can get better information from the chip

there is sometimes a little chip on the board with the main chip, apparently that is a logic chip that is able to detect that its in a real pcm then swap out the address lines. when it is read in a willem the adress lines are either mixed up or disconnected altogether, that might be what you are seeing.

I havent been able to read a crow memcal because the adress lines for the cal segment get disconnected by the logic chip when its not in a ecm. flash tool wont work for this bin coz its a early 808 based one with no 8192 aldl functions. it was suggested that one thing I could try was to power the chip externally with 5V then power it up in a pcm to unscramble the adress lines then pull the memcal out and read in the willem while the external battery power left it powered on. havent tried it yet but i will one day

I think the chip is corrputed i try to run in the N13 last night and the car went straight into limp mode I gathered it was for a MPI after I compared the cal packs to a JE camira memcal and they were excatly the same.

Oh well was worth a try would have been interesting so see what they changed for a HP2 chip

what was the code on the je memcal you compared? amxx and amxy were multiport injection, and more common than the tbi ones. im not sure if there were also tbi injected JEs or if they were all JDs.

check the wikihttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Camira, started as leaded JD MPFI 1.6L, then went to Leaded 1.8L MPFI, back to TBI unleaded 1.8L, then went to JE MPFI 2.0L

It was the resistor pack on a AMXX memcal i compared to which i believe was a MPI as far as i know all JE were MPI the JD was TBI.

Anyway all I know is the chip doesn't seem to work in the ecu i have anyway.
