Top stuff :punk:

We could def see the balancer causing interference on the crank trigger when scoping it, the gaps between each ref pulse were not a smooth line at 0v but fairly wavy causing the module to false trigger. Moving the sensor away stopped it triggering but I suspect this was due to an alloy material for the balancer and the slots being too shallow.

Looking forward to seeing some track footage :driving:

Had a great time at the track today. Much fun had by all. We gave the 240 some more spark under boost and it loved it :) However we soon discovered why we are having overheating troubles.. it looks like a blown head gasket  But even so we still call the day a success, we could only just do 2 laps at a time before overheat, but got some logs and the efi was running awesomely! Heres some pics, see the steam coming out the overflow pipe in the on track pic! There is also video, i'll try and get edited and update the thread later on.

HD on track footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsO9cu9h1eM

youtubes servers seem too slow for HD. You might need to pause it in those resolutions and wait for it to load the video.

Or download the original high quality footage here: http://hotfile.com/dl/116380779/cb51354 ... 0.avi.html [381.9mb]. You'll need a h264 codec and a fast pc to play it.

Yeah it dried out mostly later in the day, but I only had the camera on the Datsun for one session.

Quick post again just to say thanks to Antus, Bart Jayme. The day was a success even with a blown head gasket and we managed to get some good laps in and some good logs.

If we didn't already have a good tune it would have been frustrating but as it stands the tune is looking good and the car was charging hard :)

The tune was so good that I actually had the two biggest looses that I have ever had at Mallala, although one was in the extreme wet! The first ended up with mud on the INSIDE of the windscreen and on the roof liner and the second ended in a LOT of tire smoke right in front of the grandstand... Great fun :) Hopefully pics soon of the second one!

Cheers,
R.

The head gasket issue is still a work in progress, but last night we fitted a set of high impedance injectors from a 3L v6 TF magna. They flow the same as the factory injectors, but being high impedance meant we could remove the kalmaker injector driver box. The injectors fit the holes in the manifold ok, but they were slightly taller meaning that the plastic part that fits around the rubber ring around the body of the injector for mounting was too tall. We figured for testing this plastic could me omitted and assembled it as pictured. After fitment (and bypassing the low impedance driver box) we fired her up and it ran perfectly. The AFRs were still dead on across the board. Now we just need to decide if we shave the plastic part and use the originals, or make new parts out of a piece of pvc tube cut to size (thus being able to go back to JECs injectors at any stage).
