Re: VN V8 timing
Just confirming you were on Cyl #1 TDC when you installed the distributer ie Cyl #4 valves should be rocking
If so it should be close enough to fire at least.

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
Just an aside after seeing the JB Weld on the sensor again etc. Had a similar issue recently with a sump repair where it wasn't practical to remove the engine to fix it properly and JB Weld was the go to. But there is this product here. https://www.polywater.com/en/product/polywater-powerpatch-trans...

Re: VR Ute
Yes I did see that. Quite impressive with the 255s.

Re: VR Ute
I did consider the rear wheel tubs. There is a decent kit which I think is either 2.0 mm steel or better. Anything would be better than the factory tub which is only 1.0 mm which get easy dented in the back of a ute.
I think the cost was OK, but wouldn't have the confidence to install them myself.

Re: VR Ute
Thanks seabreeze, thats good info. That’s with a VT offsett rim too? Are you running any wheel spacers? I had a VS wagon that had VT wheels which I thought were a 48p. I ran 225s and it used to scrape on the LH inner tub only, but I never had an adjustable panhard bar. The RH side was fine. My old V...

Re: VR Ute
This is a 3" single, but at this stage the cat is only 2.5", which can wait for another day.
I originally wanted a twin cat twin system with a 3" single pipe over the diff, but for $300 for a near new 3" catback versus $2500 for a custom system I couldn't pass it up.

Re: VR Ute
I am starting to doubt whether mufflers aren't an optional extra on Landcruisers. But worse still are 5 cyl Ford Rangers - the exhaust on them is just noise, there's no note to it. Rangers only sound good on the back of a tilt tray. Regardless the resonator is fitted now. It has certainly knocked th...

Re: VR Ute
It will be a shame to quieten it down, but it’s just too loud. I think rocking up to a license test in this would be an instant fail regardless of how good or bad you drove. I have two nieces and a nephew who passed their license test in my old VS ute when it had the supercharged 5.0 in it, but that...

Re: VR Ute
Said daughter wanted to make a Youtube clip of this ute before the resonator went in to make it a bit quieter. I am a complete IT illiterate, so she has done the whole thing start to finish. Anyway this is the first Youtube clip she has made. Hopefully she won’t cop too much grief over this so pleas...
