VX L67 ECU Running L36
As some may have followed I have a VX L67 which has recently failed and is now in the process of being rebuilt. In the mean time my intention was to fit the vehicle with an L36 Ecotec to keep it on the road as this will take some months to finish the engine to the standard I want. I purchased an eng...

Re: VY Flash PCM Info
If converting a Flash PCM to real time is an issue its probably not worth it then as the VX PCM already has the NVRAM conversion. I was mainly thinking the higher clock speed could provide some benefit, if not then no biggie, I have a VT n/a it might find its way in to then :p

VY Flash PCM Info
Those who may have read in other topics, at the moment I have a dead L67 on my hands. Being cheap :p and given a lot of the really top stuff for these engines only comes EX US I am shipping a new engine over from the states but this will come via Sea Freight and take quite a few weeks. In the mean t...

Re: DFI Module
Ok I must admit i'm not great with electronics. Would this work? If I supply 5v to a relay, I assume this will come from a sensor driver on the PCM. Wire the switching side of the relay across the poles of the DFI coil output. Idle the voltage across both terminals being high will unlatch the relay ...

Re: DFI Module
Oh well that can be my next project to work out how to do that...doesn't discourage me in the slightest, it would be a great conversion if i can get it to work and solve a lot of potential issues in the future.

Re: DFI Module
Final question, as stated in my earlier posts, wiring these after the trigger on the DFI module, i.e to the posts which stick out and connect to the base of the OEM coils should work? Am I correct in saying the trigger is just a solid state relay designed to cope with the high amperage current requi...

Re: DFI Module
Don't know if it makes a difference but the ls2 coils are quite a bit different, they run less dwell and slightly shorter spark duration however they deliver triple the output, 120 vs 40. My understanding is that as a result they are far superior especially when you throw revs at them. I have 8 at h...

Re: DFI Module
Excellent explanation, got a much better idea now and I think given that description i can make those coils work. The LS2 smart coils i believe as you have described also have the a 'safety' function to stop excess dwell, some documentation i read this morning suggests that also but does not offer t...

DFI Module
This is a continuation to my questions in the Tuning topic but this is more specific to the GM DFI Module so thaught it better I put it here. VX commodore, L67, I have heard that the blue base coils past 5500rpm start to struggle a bit...i dont know how true this is as i have had it out to 6300 and ...

Re: Fuel Cut RPM High
Legend...thats much appreciated. I must admit I am really impressed with just how much the delco system has to give, admittedly it's with a great deal of support but obviously there are some smart bastards out there. Said it a few times but thanks everyone.
