burning .dat files on GQ4X
Can anyone help me out here guys? I am familiar with burning .bin files but have a request from someone to burn some eproms with .dat files. Is it just the same as burning the bin files? I noticed on the programmer requests what type of file is to be written but .dat is not listed Any ideas are much...

OK I think I found why I am getting confused
This xdf shows the VATS as disabled
but this shows it as enabled
I will use the latter xdf, change to disable VATS and Prog ID word change to 170 or AA?

I am having similar problems with error "Did not get response from programmer. Demo only." Tried installing "GQ USB Driver 2.01" but will not allow, error says driver is not digitally signed I have Win 8 (64) machine I have even tried running the software in XP SP3 compatability ...

VL400, re disabling VATS That's exactly what I thought. ticked box = VATS disabled So when the downloaded bin (presumably stock in case of what I am modifying) has the checkbox ticked, it is not actually a stock bin as the VATS has been disabled? BWFU0310.BIN The bin is from the Memcal ID tool list ...

so as a sanity check, I load both the original bin and the modified bin in TP5 compare
I run the difference tool and there are many changes. Not just two
