Re: Checking for Error Codes
Not sure if I'm losing coolant. I check fluids periodically and haven't noticed any drop in the level. However I have been losing a little oil *i think* but I suspected my rocker cover gaskets which I changed between services. I'm doing an oil change today as its service time so I'll be monitoring t...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Well I'm back again with DTC 64 lol.
It seems something keeps killing my left hand sensors. Any advice on what I should investigate next?
Cheers.

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Well I didn't have time on Saturday to fiddle and swap the sensors (woke up close to noon due to a bigger than expected night before) and I didn't want to risk not being able to make to Holden before spare parts closed and have to wait another week so I called around a few Holden dealerships and fou...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Give what holden202 said earlier in this thread a shot and see what happens.. before you go and buy a new o2 sensor, try swapping them bank to bank and see if the problem follows the sensor!! Ah yes, good idea. I just got given some car ramps for my birthday, perfect timing lol. I'll give this a go...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Hi all. Check engine light is back, and according to my log it's the left o2 sensor which I replaced not long ago! I did not replace it with an OEM AC Delco sensor, though, I bought a Bosch one thinking that it was the OEM sensor at the time. Are Bosch sensors generally pretty shit? Or could somethi...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Replaced the o2 sensor and all seems good no more check engine light and the car purrs.
Only problem now is that it seems that I have some kind inconsistent starting issue. But that's for another thread, thanks for the help guys!

Re: Checking for Error Codes
Right so I've gotta adjust it till the IAC steps shown on my VY is about 37 to make up for the 7 steps that the thermo fan creates?
Thanks for the info.

Re: Checking for Error Codes
No worries I'll give the TB and IAC a clean before adjusting anything, and I'll keep all accessories turned off when monitoring it. Holden202T, by fans do you mean the radiator fan too? Mine seems to run a few seconds after I turn on the VY with the ALDL cable plugged in, I'm assuming this is becaus...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
the IAC valve is driven by a linear stepper motor, which means that it moves in small discrete steps. The number of steps indicate how far open the valve is. Oh I see, makes sense. I noticed this is also mentioned in the FAQ, am I right in assuming 20-30 steps is a general rule amongst all cars? Be...

Re: Checking for Error Codes
log looks ok, nothing stands out and no faults are logged. Only thing that looks slightly off is IAC steps are a little high, should be around 30 steps usually when warmed up at idle in park. perhaps check your throttle body and IAC passage is clean and if so readjust the stop screw a little to get...
