yes you will need to use ISCP header to some kind of adaptor, i used ponyprog program to do the reading. Im taking it your trying to read your cluster chip?

have a read of this thread.

that header is something else. ICSP 24CXX is in the top end of the socket. Reading your manual this one doesn't Support 24C44, you will need a programmer with 6 or 10pin ICSP.

Update:

Programmer has a 5 pin ICSP port

1. MCLR ( Program voltage / VPP)
2. VDD +
3. GND
4. RB7 ( PGC / Clock)
5. RB6 ( PGD / Data)

Therefore wiring should look like this:

Few Q's

Are pins
1, 3, 6 & 7 suppose to be connected?

where sould Pin 1 MCLR go?

Where should 5V - be wireD?

Sorry i am a newbie.... :)

thanks

MCLR is Reset, RB7 Clock is SK, RB6 Data is DO. You will need to pull CE & Recall High to activate the chip and recall memory for reading.

You wont be able to program it as you have no Data Output, your programmers manual states it does not support 24C44.

So Will this be okay????
