Does anyone know what conditions must be met for the TCC to lock up on the VS v6? I think the engine must be a certain temp, which it is, its running the stock thermostat and is coming up to temp. What other things need to be in play for the TCC to lock? So far, it locks up once per start. so if i take off, come up to speed, and back off, it locks up. Lovely, then if i step on it or slow dowm it unlocks, but does not lock up again until i switch off the ignition, and start again. The rest of the trans functions are working fine, shifts, kickdown etc. so i guess the ecm is unhappy about a condition. Hopefully, tommorrow i will pull my finger out and hook up a CEL and check some codes... if any.

TCC only locks up in 3rd and 4th gear.
On the VT, until transmission is to temperature it will not lock up, have you got all the transmission wires hooked up?
Once all operating conditions are met for TCC lockup, it is the based on TPS and vehicle speed as to whether the transmission locks up.

Hmm, yes as far as im aware all the wires are hooked up, unless something has been overlooked. Basically ive just got the VS loom all plugged in. Trans temp should be ok... unless it not getting hot enough. Ill keep looking.

Re: VS V6 Supercharged Into Suzuki Sierra
Any fault codes?? Could be a TCC fault (or other sensor related to TCC lockup as yoda69 mentioned) thats stopping it from working after its been engaged once, key off to clear current fault (although there will be a stored fault code).
If you can get hold of a ALDL interface can check everything including trans temp and fault codes really easily.
Oh and good to hear its up and running too

Im looking into that now.. There seem to be some relatively cheap ones available, I will have to purchase. However, I have run into a *small* setback. Looks like its lost oil pressure and done a a bearing.... The joys of motoring.

Re: VS V6 Supercharged Into Suzuki Sierra
Hi everyone, Im finally finished theerbuild on the ecotec. It took forever, but its been stripped to the last bolt, cleaned checked and put back together, along with a new crank, some rods timing chain oil pump etc etc. PHEW. Lucky my dad is retired, cause i would never have got it completed.
Anyways, I will be back to the fun stuff soon.... I think the next thing i need to do is make the interface for my pc so i can se what it upset about....

Re: VS V6 Supercharged Into Suzuki Sierra
Hi everyone,
I am back to playing with this transmission again.
I have been running around a little in the car, and still have this issue of the trans locking up when the car is started for the first time ie cold. Once i pull up a an intersection, the TCC does not come on again. I have hooked up a CEL, however it indicates code 12, which i guess i should be happy about. I read that i just short the white black wire to get it read off faults, is there any special procedure for gathering faults, or do i just go for a drive and then pull up and set it to read off faults?
One other thing, it was mentioned that the trans need to be up to temp for it to lock. I am runing a cooler on this box, is it possible that the box is not getting hot enough, as its only pushng a little suzuki around??
Also, should i be contructing an interface for datalogging? will that give more detailed info?

Re: VS V6 Supercharged Into Suzuki Sierra
engine temp above 50c i think for tcc to engage other than that unless your in the snow it should lock.
Datalogging is good, start tuning from it
