I personally take it off the main harness and join/solder there. Then you can tape up the main harness nicely so it’s not visible.

So I guess the left over grey wire is for reverse switch power?

no worries can work that out later main thing is to get it started this weekend, I'll just join the purple wires at the moment. Thanks for helping will post how it goes soon.

Connected them 2 purple wires still not turning over. So decided to put test light on starter motor and accidentally crossed the starter. The starter is fine it works spat out and turned, but blew the wire off my test light

also checked all the fuses not sure what I have missed I know the wiring is good the old car started

anyone know what the white wire from the button start was for is that an earth wire?

I cut the button out and earthed the white wire as am pretty sure it was an earth/start circuit wire (I could be wrong) , so the button just completed the earth/start circuit when pressed in. I don't want the button unless it said blower or nitro
