yeah it got me thinking that the v6 ecotec turbo i blew up ages ago may have suffered from pre-ignition rather than detonation now :mrgreen:

how did it blow up? hole in the piston?

smashed the side of the top of 2 pistons but very quickly withen 2 seconds of standing on the gas

that almost sounds like a pre-existing issue that just happened to show up then!

ive seen a few L67's with the exact same damage it happened while tuning after an hour or so of run after run on the street boost spiked and pop but i think it must be preignition from a hotspot might have heated it up a bit boosting it over and over
