How do i setup $12P for TBI injection

hey guys
iv just about got a pulsar TBI harness setup to run on a 308 with holley projection throttle body and need to know what settings i need to change for the TBI instead of MPI

the harness is off a TBI car and has a loop in it for TBI but im not sure what it does lol

also the TBI harness does not use IAT sensor is this easy to disable in 12P is it just disable the flags and let the default setting work as is or should i wire in an IAT to keep it sweet

need to mod the netres on the memcal and set it to TBI, which is the one labelled 2cyl in this post:

that will tell the computer to send a injection pulse every time it receives an ignition pulse, which is TBI mode. for mine, I just unsoldered the netres furthest away from the eeprom and put a 10k resistor there. if you have a vl400 nvram board, you can jsut set the jumper to "jmp" and leave no jumper on any of the 4, 6, or 8 positions, it will do the same thing.

thats all there is needed to go tbi mode, no spwecific mods to the tune as far as im aware. apart from the obvious buggereing with the inj rate ect.

I would wire the IAT in myself.. drill a hole in a runner and mount it there. for the little amount of effort, it will help keep fuelling right under different temperatures, not to mention the v8 tune already being set up for it.

Unfortunately 12P does not really support TBI. You can set the ECU to TBI mode by setting the jumper on the NVRAM to 'jmp' and then remove the cyl select jumper (the 4-6-8 cyl one). But the issue will be AE, where batch fired setups just get a big hit of fuel and it sits waiting behind each valve until it opens, without TBI support you will get a hit of fuel but will not be distributed evenly to each cyl.

As for IAT, prob just let it default for now but can add a sensor down the track if it all works out ok.

hi again guys

i did as suggested had set to jumper and left all cyl selectors off and ran rediculously rich

lowered inj flow bit by bit right down as far as it would go and still too rich

then loweres ve table right down so idle etc would be around 8% and still to rich

set on 4 cyl jumper and helped to a point where it was running ok

set on 6 cyl jumper and managed to get ve table up to something that almost resembles a ve table and could set the inj size up to .04 and it runs really well at that

so thats good enough to go and get it regoed so i can finish the tune off

i loaded the bin into the ostrich which is on a v6 memcal and fired it up and it runs stupidly rich again

WTF??????

if the jumper on the NV is set to 6 cyl and i put a v6 memcal in shouldnt it be the same??

Yep should be identical, firing on every 3rd pulse of the ref signal. In 12p you can load up the list view and it will tell you what memcal the ecu detects and what cyl count is set in software. The ecu must have seen a ref pulse for this to be correct, always reads as 8 cyl at key on.

ok got it all sorted
turned out to be a bad save of the file and was going into full limp

just dragged out stock 12P v8 bin and popped the inj rate spk ref deg and ve table and ran like a clock again

was also having problems with logging dropouts and freezing like i was having doing the ford powered landcruiser i suspected it was noise so changed my power supply from the alt to the bat terminal - " initially run from alt as it was much tidier"
