Post by TTVN »

im pretty sure u can use the ostrich 2 from moates with a vs vt pcm but has anyone tried????

i got the gable ages ago and had the ostrich and thought id plug it in the get this vx going with the vt pcm and went to write bin and cimes up error

FAILURE bin is larger than emulation RAM . Perhaps you meant to use bank 8

Some more info on the topic here:

If you don't have a G6 adaptor you may want to consider tying A17 & A18 to VCC with a pullup resistor to avoid having to stack the bins.

I use my ostrich all the time; I like to think of it as a memcal with a usb port on it, that I can't accidently snap the pins off.

Yeah same here, I ran my L67 manual VX with the ostrich for months then tried the real time board in it & kept getting prob's!

SO I went back to the trusty old ostrich & sweet, now a memcal lives in there(just in case the ostrich $%^ts itself on the mrs, she'd have no idea!).

Unfortunately I have not had a chance to test it, but it should work fine

Here is a more detailed connection diagram:

Please note:
A17 & A18 are not connected on the PCM side, so as to avoid any possibility of confusing it.
The pull up resistor values aren't too critical as the devices are CMOS.
