Yes, it is complex and overwhelming, that is because it does a lot and is very powerful ...

kur40 tried to help and you pretty much ignored him.

I highly recommend you loose the ELM and use the Mongoose and AVT.

If you can't because you don't know how, then I suggest you learn how to use your tools first ...
Universal Patcher's J-Console logger should be one of your tools for what you are wanting to do.

Sorry, if this sounds a bit harsh ... it is what needs to be said!

I’ll have to try it myself with the changes I made and see if it still works. Universal patcher is good too but I figure if we can get mine to work it’ll be a little easier for you to change and use for your own code so you can try things with a j2534 instead of the elm. I did try writing mileage yesterday with an e92 but it failed every time with the df write command no matter what I tried.

There’s a couple files you need. Can either get them by performing a programming event with sps2 or one of us can send them to you. I can but not til later.

I just don’t seem to grasp how to send Long messages in parts or the bcm won’t except it like that and only excepts if it’s sent in one block?

Were you trying anything with the ecm using the elm or something else? If not you wouldn't see any 07 e0 or 07 e8 data.. If that's the case instead if selecting 1 for ecm try selecting 5 to log everything.. It does work ok with my mdi.. I don't have a mongoose to try it with though, sorry..
