Just to make sure there is no confusion, do not use the bin to clone a PCM. The EEPROM is located at E00 so will be erased in that bin, you will need to just write the bin and choose no for the cloning.

Looking forward to your XDF though

VX radio security is only in the Head Unit.
VY radio security is different, if the pin stored in the BCM does not match the H/U the pin will need to be entered in the H/U after every power cycle, if they match it only needs to be done once.
the VIN is only there for identification when reflashing with the Tech2

SO does that mean if I post up the complete bin & just zero or F out the VIN, then he should just be able to clone & use that? of course with also AA the prog id & masking the vats?

I can easily add in a disable chatter command if thats all that is needed.
Have downloaded portmon now, and will attempt to capture the flashing process including the error I get. :)

Captured a portmon log of a write fail on the weekend, and it's attached along with the flashtool log.

If I hit ok quick enough to re-write with the revised checksum, then it works ok, but if I wat say 5 sec to make a mental note of the checksum etc, then it wont work.

Hope this helps find the culprit.

Thanks for the logs, unfortunately I forgot to mention to enable hex instead of ascii so its not showing the frame data. But, if you can have it work when quickly retrying it has to be chatter. Try v132 which disables chatter before the retry attempt ... https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... p=604#p604

Do we need to do any further testing with this on the flash tool & with portmon, I think it seems to have fixed the hick-up with doing the check sum update if wrong on 2nd attempt, I just clicked yes quickly last time but I think it works fine now?

Yeah should work fine now, will go checking for the heartbeat in case the BCM has started chatting again.
