RAM was installed while the ecu was removed from the car. Can get the check engine light to go out by removing the RAM, and re-installing the memcal.

If you put std memcal back in the flash tool should connect if youve installed comms board properly.

Did you connect the write wire before inserting nvram?

I dont think it will as a standard VN tune does not know about the high speed serial and has no code to support it.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

ah so the problem is more then likely stemming from what is on or not on the nv ram. is there a way to find out or i need a chip reader / burner? i have a memcal from a vt computer. Am i ablee to plug that into the 808 to at least see if i can connect

Unless youve got a std vr man memcal to check the comms board , i think youll have to bite the bullet and get a burner to check the nvram has not been corrupted ,did you connect the write pin before you installed the nvram, because if you didnt it will definitely be corrupted. :comp:

Yep, if you have CEL and A/C fan on would most likely mean its corrupt or not installed correctly. It was loaded with 12P V110 and was bench tested prior to sending along with the R/W jumper removed. Prob going to need to get a burner to re-program (or send it back and I can) and check the R/W wire. If its in the wrong spot will almost certainly have corrupted the NVRAM.

Also, you can have the R/W jumper installed on the NVRAM board but no write enable wire soldered and it will not corrupt the NVRAM - it will just be in read-only mode but will cause no issues.
