Re: Few Q's getting started
did you program both banks on the nvram VL400 ? can probably remove the map switch and use the other bank if so ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Yeah both banks are loaded with 12P BLCF bin. Just make sure the R/W jumper on the NVRAM is removed and key is off before trying the other bank. Might be able to confirm the engine runs and can connect with flashtool/TP.

Hey Guy's sorry I haven't tried one of these set up's yet(or even tried plugging into 1 of these early girls!), how do you switch between banks is there a jumper on them for that?

Re: Few Q's getting started
The NVRAM is 128k, so for the early 32k and 64k bins you can load two bins and switch between them - there is a jumper on the board along with an LED to show which bank your on.
Re: Few Q's getting started
Yep, definately had the r/w wire installed, was the first thing we did. I will try removing the r/w wire and map switch and see how that goes. If not will have to bite the bullet and by a burner sooner than anticipated.
Thanks for the help gents, much appreciated.

Re: Few Q's getting started
They sound awesome! They would only have the 28 pin nvram on them though right?
Sorry to hi-jack the thread!

Re: Few Q's getting started
Before we try this again, do you reccomend removing the r/w wire to make sure that this was not the problem? I am fairly certain it was soldered correctly. Can check again tonight.

Re: Few Q's getting started
Should just need to remove the jumper on the NVRAM board - the R/W one on the corner. But, if you want to make absolutly sure, remove the jumper and wire.
Re: Few Q's getting started
Removed the map switch last night, it connected first try, the first bank must be currupt.
Thanks for your help

Re: Few Q's getting started
Good stuff, just confirm the write wire is correct before putting on the rw jumper.
