ive taken a look at 12609099 vs what my corvette runs in 12653249.
The 0x1FEDEC address mentioned above is the switch to turn on the HWIO input, which i have defined as BTU0018.

Now the corvette shows oil temp on the dash, so it could be calculated too. The manual gearbox runs a trans cooler too with the diff also circulating it's fluid via the trans. i.e the trans fluid cools the diff oil. However Ive never looked to see what temps the trans is logging.

I'm home now, so if i get around to playing in the vet i will see if it shows up.

Im assuming that when the trans temp sensor available switch is on, it then references a sensor calibration table.
