Ecotec Wideband setup in VY Commodore

Post by Muncie »

Hi All

first time post here probably covered somewhere but havent quite found my answers yet, I've Turbo'd my Ecotec and am just running off a single narrowband o2 sensor in the Downpipe when i was building it i fitted a wideband sensor in same location, Understand the Flash PCM's have no spare inputs according to post i've read so anything extra requires taking something away and repurposing its inputs. I also have ditched the EGR so thats available too.

I have an Innovate LC-2 controller and LSU4.9 sensor could i inject the signal into my now unused Passengers side narrowband sensor wiring and change the parameters in background to get it to read correctly so i can get a trace while datalogging? i'm happy for it to just be Data only.

Hopefully this makes sense? i'm very green here so far i've flashed in the Enhanced Bin and setup my larger injectors the car runs ok only making 4 psi of boost at this stage on the Narrowband AF ratios seems ok.

Wire it into the injector monitor line wire and adjust the adx to suit. There is a topic already about it on these forums on how to do so 👌

So I can't use the unused narrowband input?

The enhanced code is setup to ignore the original purpose of the injector voltage monitor line to free it up for wideband. There is no such change for the narrowband. I am not sure what the result of 1 narrowband will be. If you connect a wideband and it doesn't throw an error it'll misunderstand the data and mess up your fuel trims. Best use the enhanced as designed.

Thanks Antus

That's explained what I was wanting to know I wasn't sure if hooking into the injector voltage line was for the flash based ecu im running or the earlier PCM when fitted with NVRAM.

I tend to only get online after a 12 hour day and information goes over my head at times.

Will get that wired in as per above hopefully all goes well.

Have a look at the FAQ area (green question mark up near the top right) and go to the1s enhanced thread from there and read the general information. That thread has all the information about what features are in which versions.

The EGR line doesn't seem to have the same sampling rate as the injector mon line so its best to use the injector mon input. The EGR input also tends to display garbage unless you connect it in a particular way or so I have found anyway. I use it for boost reference logging.

There is a unused input for a MAP input on export models but I believe there was issues getting it running and due to time restraints the flash PCM have not been fully developed like the earlier PCM's

Ok so the egr line could be used for a 3 bar map? I want to try get as much data coming in as possible so aiming to use anything thats not allocated.

Yeah you can use it for any 0-5v input but the resolution is not great so if your looking for a high sampling rate its not going to work.
I log boost on my M90 which has a pretty flat boost line so its suitable for my needs.

If you have a manual you can log temp though the gear box temp input. I log water temp of my water to air cooler loop.
