v6 ve commodore calais ecu kit replacement ?

either my bcm or ecm is fried in my ve v6 calais commodore , for me it be easier to get a complete ecu kit from wreckers ( key, bcm, ecm etc...)
i have found a kit, would it be that simple just to swap everything over ? ike plug n play?
or would it still need programming ?

If replacing the engine computer, it will still require programming and security linking to the vehicle.

I would recommend only changing the engine computer, since changing more items will result in more things to program (ie.. BCM).

You can program a replacement ECU using OBDSync:

but if i get the whole kit with ecu key bcm wouldnt it be easier to do the swap. ? cause im not sure if the ecm or bcm is fried ?

The rest of your car will have a hissy fit since the VIN will not match between everything.

You will end up with ESP/ABS and engine warnings on the instrument cluster screen.
