Hi all,
I’ve done a maff less tune using tuner pro rt, my original bin P01 12225074, and password less adx from this site
the first couple of drives are not bad but after a few days it looses it,
Is there something that’s not set correctly or are the adaptive parameters changing it,
I loose throttle response, idle drops park to neutral, and I would think I’d have a bit more power than I do
I’ve tried tweaking a few things but only just starting out and not fully understanding all of the parameters
Could I post my files and logs for someone to check over
Cheers

Re: Ls1 tune
Hi all,
I didnt get a response but thought id try again
I went back to original and started again,
would someone with a bit of experience please look at this and give me some feedback,
it would really help to know if im doing something wrong
much happier with the tune but still think it should be better , i dont know why but im unable to log with pcm hammer/logger pcm hammer reads the obdxpro but logger says unable to initialise so im using flow csv reader and have screenshots of histogram
high km VY LS1 with full DPE 3'' and CAI, im installing a cam soon and would be good to know if im going in the right direction
Cheers

Re: Ls1 tune
id use a proper mafless o/s so you get to keep hi/low octane maps. also that looks like a factory gts mafless tune correct me if im wrong? id be looking at ignition timing and how things are done in a vz ss. if you over lay the timing maps of a vz ss tune vs a 285kw hsv youll see the timing is very similar, but the vz is a nice map, reducing timing right around peak torque or cylinder pressure. as for the idle issue, i found id get rough idle some times after an ls1 reflash with some cars but not all. from memory i adapted ignition on 13sec, ignition off 13sec and repeat 3 times, i think it was. that some how fixed the idle issues after reflash. id learn your way around tuning it before you fit a cam first. idle and driveability can be tricky to get right sometimes with big cams. i was never able to get tunerpro to connect and data log with the ls1's either so i ended up getting efi live. the factory mafless tune was in limp mode the whole time and they just turned off the check engine light to do with it and thats why youll see the hi/low timing tables are the same as by default it runs off the low octane maps lol. we've got custom o/s these days via the use of hp tuners or efi live. so id look into that. efi live is childs play to use. although i havent been on here for a number of years and have no idea how far the guys have come with pcm hammer?

Re: Ls1 tune
I think 30deg of timing is too much for a stock cam ls1 as well. I’ve heard some say max timing on an ls1 in the area of 28deg. I think if you look at the 285kw tune and factor in all the other maps that contribute to the main map and final timing, ie coolant, air temp ect, it ends up being around 19deg from memory and that’s on the 285kw. If you look at the man 285kw tune under dfco timing you’ll see a cool little trick that holden used to get that nice crackle on decel too. There’s also idle timing maps over speed and under speed you can play with. Making them more aggressive with a stock cam can make it sound like it’s already got a nice cam in it. You’d do the opposite once you actually do fit a cam though, as the factory settings are a bit much for a larger cam. You’ll also notice the differences in the torque limits from auto to manual tuned, big differences there. Any way I’ll stop rambling now
