I bought a new radiator for my WH a little less than 2 years ago, looks to have already developed a split in the drivers side tank.
Original one lasted 20 years, genuine of course, now it seems that the only available units on the market are most likely Chinese land fill.
Does anyone here on the forum know of where I might find one that'll last more than 2 years.
Thanks in advance.
Edit:- for an LS 5.7.

Re: In need of a Radiator
I had to design my own and have PWR manufacture a replacement for equally annoying issues with the aftermarket ones.
I know what you mean, my mate's old VY was a rad every year because of that same leak you are talking about.
For me in all my VPs, it's the lack of barb on the inlet/outlet so the hoses come off. And the plastic is that soft that the clamps come loose every several weeks and need a re-tighten, this is because the abnormally soft plastic the inlet/outlet squishes smaller and smaller over time, so the hoses get loose, and no barb, the hoses have popped off mid driving. Luckily it's only happened in short trips just as parking or driving up the drive way and didn't result in any engine damage.
Now to add to the list is the oval shaped filler necks that doesn't seal against the cap
If the WH is the same as VT-VY, PWR should have them already. Mine was a bit different situation, they kinda had one but it had design issues so I took theirs and reworked the lot, and I think theirs was V8 maybe? I changed to suit the V6. But to be fair, their VN-VS rad wasn't listed on their catalog unlike all other other Holden ones so I reckon it was an early design that had on the back burner from their early days as a company.
Everything else they had listed is top quality deign and build so there shouldn't be an issue with a newer model such as yours, they are awesome to work with as well.
Pricey though, mine was like $1300 back in 2014. But I still have it and it's in top nick still.

Re: In need of a Radiator
Try places like Holmart. Should still be able to get the Calsonic radiators. Assuming this is for an LS1? They are over double the price compared to the Chinese landfill but at least they last.
I bought a radiator a while back off Natrad and it has lasted ok still.

Re: In need of a Radiator
I reckon it's been 15 years since I saw a Calsonic rad for any Holden, let alone any Aus car.
If any place that might have a nos one it would be Eagle parts aka Obsolete parts. They out muscled Holmart long ago for acquiring surplus Holden parts and actually charge a very reasonable and low price, Holmart rip people off now.
Funny story, the main front man that worked at Holmart left for Eagles during covid and said he couldn't stand working for the owner anymore for a few reasons I won't mention but one is related to the business being not the first choice for GM nos parts anymore.

LS1, wondering if the neck size for the hose varies much, looks to be on the right side though, i'll research that.vlad01 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 10:13 am Holmart actually do have this if it's any help?

Ah ok, then maybe this?
The price isn't much more than it was 10 years ago, so with inflation the price is actually lower than it used to be. Still, 1400 bucks is a bit, but it will last the life time of the car. Assuming it's the right one?
