Re: PCM to Inline Six Hemi 265
Makes me wonder why random people take them? It's not like many people are even capable with tuning or even electrical and one might say the obvious answer, to sell but at the prices people ask, zero would sell.
I wouldn't pay any more than 50 buck and that's being generous. 200 bucks!, tell'em there're dreaming!

I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

I wouldn't buy an 808. All the ones I have bought are 802's and have never paid more than $100 for them all with memcal and some V8's. Now their asking 3-4 hundred for them. Don't know if they sell maybe their dreaming.

Is the 802 the VR ECU?
After a lead from Antus I was able to pick up 2 808’s with memcals from Nissan Pulsars today from Upullit wreckers. Still not overly cheap at $66 each but good to have spares.

I believe that's the correct number. The Nisssan memcals won't work in a 6 or 8 but their still worth money for those doing a 4 cyl conversion. I believe they can be modified with resistors to use on other engines.

If you need to convert 4 to 6 or 8 you still can by modifying the netres resistors, its just a little more to change than just cutting a pin like 6 to 8. you can do that and replace the eprom with a 32k eeprom and put 12p on it (11p for a 424), too.

Yea I did one once before. Not sure why I did it but it worked. I think I got the info from this site.

The resistor values in the chip are here: viewtopic.php?p=6850#p6850
It looks like you could lift the two pins and use jumper wires to swap them to the opposite ends. Or cut all 3 points, and install 2 1/4w resistors over the top of the chip.
You wont have the buick v6 knock board, but that doesn't matter on a conversion to a different engine as it wouldn't work anyway and you'll be disabling the knock retard function.

Re: PCM to Inline Six Hemi 265
The knock board is all to do with bore size and resonation. There must be a tollerance. I use 6 cyl on both my 4 cyl and they work fine with no false triggering that I'm aware of. There was a tuner that was taking them off all the 6 and 8 cyl memcals (I bought 40 6 cyl and 10 V8 ones from him) so I guess he was putting faith in his tunes or their not really worth having. I believe the knock system was average at it's best back then but my preference with Turbo cars is to have them.
