VY cluster TRAC OFF warning

Post by pman92 »

Anyone know if its possible to disable the "TRAC OFF" warning on a VY cluster via the EEPROM?

I've read that VY utes didn't have traction control.
But can't see any options in tech2win to specify no traction control like VT/VX.
And can't see any option for it in the VY cluster XDF I found on here either.

Looks like it can be done then.

I'll have to play around and try and find the flag in eeprom

I too am keen for the answer on this one, I wonder if Tazzi has come across this?
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

Just a shot in the dark here, but it's not just a matter of turning on the no ABS data mask bit?

There's a mask that can be set over bus, it's set in some of the early VY utes with no ABS, it basically just makes the cluster ignore the fact there's no ABS.

I did play around with the arrow software yesterday and tried flipping the ABS mask. But it didn't make any difference.
Maybe I need to power cycle the cluster after changing it or something.
I was kind of in a rush and didn't get too deep into it. So I'll go back and look further tonight

There are two bits, 1 for abs light, 1 for masking the error, you probably only turned the lamp off.

Looks like there is another flag and it isn't in the arrow software.

EEPROM address 0xEA bit 0 set and no more 'trac off' warning present.

There is an excellent XDF from Knackersjewels for VZ here:
viewtopic.php?p=129486
Which is actually what clued me on. Way more detailed than the VY XDF I have.

I'll test later, but I'm pretty sure the flag I was talking about in the tool does set that address.

The "ABS" checkbox option under "configuration > general" menu in arrow software was setting bit 3 of 0x8D, plus changing what I assume is a checksum at 9E or 9F.

Also the bit was set when checkbox was set.

The flag at EA works opposite. It was clear, and setting it makes it ignore the ABS data (I assume) since there's no more traction warning.
