VT V8 injector scaling info

Post by dmac_25 »

G'day guys

Just want to get the VT V8 injector scaling info known as the vn-vs stuff is easily calculated with the handy kinjflow calc but the vt on is different just a clairification that it's just a simple flow rating adjust or something special like the vn-vs gear

That's correct just want to cobfirm there is no funky business going on when putting in bigger injectors say stock 5.0 to 5.7 355 injectors just convert the lbs/hr to msec/grams and plug it in

Cheers mate
What is your conversion rate as I carnt find a lbs/hr to msec/grams just lbs/hr to grams/second of 1 lb/hr= 0.000125998grams/msec

In the kinjflow spreadsheet from holden202 you should be able grab the fuel weight in grams. The VT PCM has a calc of X/20480 to give sec/gram. So if you know the lb/hr rating of the new injectors you can work out the grams/sec and then get the reciprocal. Or knowing the standard injectors and what your upgrading to can do it this way .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... =10#p12595

Cheers for that mate I'll put a scenario to you to confirm that's the way to do it:

26.5lb injector = 3.34 grams/sec

3.34 x 0.001 to get into msec

Then 1/0.00334=299.4012 msec/grams

That sound fair??

Seems to work out the same for me following the data in the kinjflow calc. Although I dont know what size injectors are standard - the stock bin has 362.5 msec/gram so works out to 21.9 lb/hr or 224cc/min. Anyone know? Thought they were larger than that.
