ecu locking

Hey guys

Is it actually possible to lock a tune ? on any of the platforms ?

just thinking of doing something but i do not want anyone to copy it.

locked from reading it back out from the ecm? Or locked so that the actual tune file can't be viewed?

I looked at one of the haltech models a few years ago and it was pretty good. It was software locked so the app wouldnt read, and I worked around that and the file from the ecm had data encrypted in that, and it seemed to use a semi proprietry algo. It was possible to get past that but it required custom code to brute force it on a GPU. This research was never made public but it was fun and haltech exceeded expectations. I dont remember which specific ecm it was but if thats what your looking for maybe consider haltech (and use a strong password resistant to brute force attacks).
