Looking for any ECU documented well enough that I can rip the CPU and flash out of and put an Arduino in for a custom ECU.
The point is to hijack the various voltage protection/regulation, coil/injector drivers etc. Instead of needing to do it all from scratch.
Has to be new enough to support coil per plug.

Have you considered speeduino hardware? It sounds like you want that, then to develop your own firmware and tooling.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Some OEM ECUs can be had stupid cheap, even compared to that. It may be what I go for in the end though.

Well, he's Not desoldering anything. I want to replace the CPU.

Sounds like a great idea. Any ECM's you have considered so far? Like GM E38? As you indicated some OEM ECM's are available cheap and this has to be one them. Very plentiful and proven to be relatively tough.AngelMarc wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 4:27 pm Looking for any ECU documented well enough that I can rip the CPU and flash out of and put an Arduino in for a custom ECU.

For now I'm building something with new parts to test my code. I still hope to find something for later.
