Reconfigure MAP sensor
Suspect my map sensor is playing up so I jumped online after being bitten by a cheap eBay one decided I’d buy a new one not much around locally and they’re expensive compared to reputable sellers on eBay anyway a 2 bar sensor popped up for a good price (I plan on boosting later on) how do I go about reconfiguring the computer to suit.VH 253 VN top swap running $12p cheers

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
There are 2 flags, look at the description of both of them. Together they set the type of MAP sensor.
Beware cheap, it can be very difficult to get map sensors that work properly in the aftermarket from generic sources. They do not usually fail, so OEM from the wreckers is a good bet for 1 bar. The 1 bar type were used on N13 pulsars as well, they might be starting to get rare now, but worth keeping in mind if you go that way. Otherwise for 2 bar try to stick with brand name sensors from a trusted shop.

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
I purchased one from TI Performance I’m confident buying from them apparently it’s GM 2 bar perhaps off of a turbo pulsar or something. I had a look earlier and found the pictured settings would that be the ones?

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
Yep, TI should be a good source. Yes those 2 flags. So from that description flag a set and flag b clear (implied) sets it for 2 bar. And be sure to swap to the 2 bar adx at the same time for logging. The scale on the logging side is in the adx file loaded when viewing logs.

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
Yeah I just noticed the adx was a 1 bar so loaded the 2 bar in. So with those settings changed it should start and run no worries?

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
the adx scales the map in the logged data, the flags in the bin set the operating system in the ecm to scale the voltages as 2 bar. So with the bin set and the right adx loaded it'll work properly and look correct in the logs on the pc.

Re: Reconfigure MAP sensor
Ok that all makes sense thank you will wait for the new map to arrive and hopefully it cleans it up. Cheers
