Weird issues 424 ecu

Post by Kevspec »

Ok i have a weird one here. I have a customers bt1 v8 and whilst im connected threw tunerpro the car acts fine the moment I unplug the laptop the car starts having a spaz out with the nvram still in the ecu. The only thing I can think is possibly something to do with the bt1 with steel plug and some weird stuff happening

Wont be the metal connector, that is for radio interference protection, doesn't really make any difference unless you have a high power radio transmitter in the car. It does sound electrical though, i'd be looking at power wiring and check the install or the write wire on the PCM circuit board.

I threw a 424 unit in there seems to have fixed it so could be that wire. The ecu was also getting warm whilst the nvram was in there

might have had a blown power regulator, and been powering off the computer instead of the other way around depending how comms was hooked up.
