Hey guys my daily driver 2012 lfx engine commodore let me down last night and had to tow home.
It would run for 30 sec or so then splutter for 10 sec or so then stall and wouldnt restart.
Wait 5 mins fires up and runs for another 30 sec or so then does the same.
When it wont start u turn key and can hear like 2 relays clicking maybe and the throttle body.
The engine light flickers like crazy on the dash like it has a loose connection kinda how random it is.
I have been told the ecu on these ve causes a lot of issues and that maybe issue with mine.
I have used 2 scan tools to scan for codes and nothing come up.
Alternator charging good at 14v and battery good. Checked all main connectors into fuse box and ecu today and all clean good condition.
checked main earth to engine and main battery lead all secured on well.
Is it as simple as me getting a matching code ecu e39 aa6l ?
Someone downloading my tune of my current ecu and flashing onto other ecu and i can just swap over and be on my way?
I dont know much about these ve commodores and dont wanna get ripped of

Re: e39 ecu issues ve lfx motor
E39 ECUs are known for failing and causing all kinds of problems.
Replacing the ECU does require matching the service number on the unit (It will say Serv#), and then programming it into the vehicle.
For programming, there are several ways to acheive this, a modern option that allows the average joe to do it themselves is using OBDSync.
