TPS limits can be set in winaldl so that your 0 and 100% are accurate.
I have had situations where the EST flag did not seem to make sense, however, the ecu was still controlling timing.
If you are alternating between EST and module mode, you will certainly feel/hear it.

thanks UCMatt. had considered winaldl config TPS default values may need adjustment but imagine I should first check actual votages from TPS. from your comments I think vehicle is running in EST mode, as the performance is smooth & consistent, does not feel like engine stuck at 10 deg timing. just a concern that if simple things like EST mode flag states are missed or recorded incorrectly then what other info is missing/false. will check through the inputs just to be sure. could also revert to original ecu too just in case this spare has a problem.

delcowizzid, here are some novice questions in reading winaldl data. I assume your comment that the tune is generally lean is based on the high BLM values, all >130. note INT values vary around 128, does this indicate that o2 sensor and closed loop are functioning ok and ecu is simply trying to adjust for general lean tune. O2 values at times go all over the place, is this just an ALDL logging thing were data refresh is too slow to catch real time changes. low battery voltage in the log indicates lights ON night running. have another log from day running and voltage is 13.1. system voltage drop being transferred to ecu, which I though ecu used to then compensate injector pulse width etc. will check park/neutral signal to ecu.

in closed loop the o2 constantly swings back and foward from rich to lean you just miss the swings with slow aldl thats why they quite often look like they are stuck low its just missed the high swings due to speed.i based the fact the tune is lean on the blm numbers they should be 128 or slightly under i aim for 127-128 the INT is no good for tuning VE.2 to 3 BLM's on either side of 128 is sort off acceptable but yeah 127-128 is where i get too.do a log with the other ecu and in the day time and post the log and BLM table and O2 table do a few 0-100kmh 100% throttle runs during the log too

i still think something is a bit sus with your alternator cause it should be getting up to 14 volts

yeah low volts for sure heres a log of a 2bar$5D bin for you to compare to yours was done tonight it doesnt show speed cause the guys VSS doesnt work right now its rich as too but thats party due to the no VSS .also the cells arrnt what they say the are due to it being a 2bar sensor the first cell 20kpa is actually about 40kpa so anything under 40kpa is in that cell 100kpa is 15psi

Have done some more runs but only short distances. similar results to the others posted, BLM all high. checked altenator output and it is 14 volts, why aldl data says high 12s, low 13s is a mystery. would not expect significant loss between battery and ecu. ecu next place to check. also can confirm that flag for neutral/park switch is inverted ie unflagged means neutral/park selected and flagged means gear selected. will examine bin may be this is how the flagging has been coded. another oddity that sort of fits with intermittent EST flagging and occassional dropped closed loop flag. now find TCC locked occurs at 92-95 kph, as dictated by bin. rather high for my liking although probably set high by HSV for immediate response, no lag as TCC comes out of lock. will test driveability with lower setting, prefer to cruise at 80-85 kph with TCC locked-up, at least on level ground to save fuel. easy to do now that have re-progarmming capability.

as you said check volts at ecu plugs on the 2 red with black stripe wires at PINS B1 and C16 do it without the ignition on and with and allso check voltage at PIN A6 pink wire with ignition on.just back probe the plugs. If they all check out swap ecu to another and see what the aldl says.also check the voltage at the injectors with ignition on while youre at it seeing as you allready have the multimeter out.ide allso check the earths to the engine and body maybe they are a bit rough put the multimeter on ohms and one lead on negative battery terminal and the other on the block see what value you get do the same from neg batt too body should be 0 ohms really depending on what you have the meter set on.

I have seen bad earths cause the EST flag issues described. Would also explain the low voltage readings.

the more I understand, the more I am confused. I have read that each BLM value/cell covers a number of VE cells, yet winaldl records BLM values in a cell pattern that appears to match the VE table. how should I interpret the winaldl BLM table. what have I missed. BLM values are only generated under closed loop conditions so heavy accerlation may not produce BLM values for logging by winaldl. progressive load variations, that maintain closed loop mode, is the best/only way to fill the winaldl BLM table.

BLM values other than 128 are ok if engine was to run closed loop only, because the system would adjust to compensate rich/lean based on 02 feedback. however if BLM values are not 128, the VE table is mismatched to the engine requirements and thus other operating modes that use open loop and the raw VE table values will be incorrect because system will use the stored offset BLM values from closed loop operation. true/false. if BLM values vary significantly between BLM cells, with each BLM cell covering a number of VE cells (if what I have read is correct), then system will be forced to run te wrong effective VE values (BLM values) as the MAP/RPM moves around the BLM cell and between BLM cells. is any of my reasoning correct/close/wayoff.

just interpret the winaldl as you see it use the wide average table for doing BLM tuning is the best and use the wide average correction factor to multiply the ve cells by.i wouldnt even bother doing any tuning untill you get the volts problem looked into its going to mess with fueling.and if the blm's are still way off after that ide be looking at engine numbers and seeing what model it really is someone may have transplanted a vp or vr engine in there with the s1 inlet manifold to keep the radiator hoses and radiator they allready had.or you could have blocked as injectors or anything.one thing with tuning it wont fix a broken engine need to get it to normal first.yes you want blm's as close to 128 as possible as it effects all sorts of enrichments and WOT ratio as well.

so try to get higher voltage in a log 1st change ecu's/clean earths etc till it happens.then try again if blm's are the same try a baam Vp tune and see if the BLM's are better if it brings all the blms closer to 128 you know that its got a different engine/
