Turbo buick tuning
Hi guys im new to tuning but have recently started tuning my vr with a buick and a turbo but am very lost i put all the details into the kinjflow calculator and got the figure of 0.043 for my deka 60lb injectors but if i plug that into the car it wont even start it runs if i have it around 0.1 but still runs very badly like backfiring after 2.5k revs on acceleration and complete loss of power im wondering if this has to do with fueling or a spark issue i can also attach a video of my tunerpro log if needed

Look in the FAQ for the question "What injector dead time settings should I used for Siemens Deka IV 60lb injectors?" link is up in the top right under the green question mark or in my signature. Also read the guides on that page if you havnt. If all that is right consider if your injectors are genuine and if fuel pressure is standard.

The kinjflow calculator is OK I usually find it is on the rich side but works with the VE table and if that's been changed it may take some time to sort out. If the VE table looks reasonable try dropping the kinjflow number down till it idles Ok then go from there. What program are you using? Start with hot idle first then it should start falling into place.

Re: Turbo buick tuning
Yeah i tried that antus and can get it to idle half decent at 0.612 still hunting sometimes though but ive just removed the idle spark adjustment so hopefully that should solve that. Im currently just trying to get the car to go through the rev range stationary without load and its not going well at about 2600 its like i have a 2 step tune in it just backfiring and wont rev past that i tried giving it more timing and fuel but hasnt made much difference as of yet im assuming it needs more timing opposed to less but i cant get it to run smooth at all. Itll have patches where it runs smoothly then will start trying to backfire not sure the cause of this

Re: Turbo buick tuning
Could this be a single/double fire transition issue?

Re: Turbo buick tuning
Dont think so as its popping and carrying on most of the way through to 2600 just wont rev past that any further also my when its running somewhat smoothly my wideband is showing around the 14 afr point so im thinking it could be a timing issue, though im currently on a pretty much stock tune and havent changed anything other than injectors and strapping a turbo to it so not sure why the timing would be so far out as to make it 2 step

Re: Turbo buick tuning
Can you take a data log and post it up? to be honest it could be anything. We could give you ideas but if thats not enough you need data see what looks off. Also dekka do have lots of clones. Dont assume their flow is right unless you know you have a reliable hardware source. If they're not trusted injectors they could be way off textbook performance and that could be why the numbers dont add up. You could spend more in time easily if theyre fake and terrible and resold on marketplace. If youre confident theyre real disregard.

here is that file and no im actually not certain theyre genuine, they have all the markings to say that they are but i cant be for sure i might have to take they in to get tested if you cant find anything obviously wrong with this datalog

Re: Turbo buick tuning
Have you checked the fuel pressure and volume before starting to tune?
