So I've bit the bullet and fitting a link ecu into the starlet and am going to attempt to feed a vz v6 engine can stream to the t42 4l60e tcm to retain auto gear shifting.
Does anyone know the expected can stream from the e55 ecu with rpm tps etc and any module preset messages or even just bus IDs so I know what data to look at on my can sniffer.
I think I also need to wire in a seperate torque request wire from the link ecu as well

Re: T42 tcm expected can messages
you might be able to reach out to link support & see if you can get access to the 6l80e firmware im testing. It should cover the T42 requirements.
torque request is already handled via can. no need for wiring. Just have the trans & car CAN connected to CAN2. If keeping the factory dash. 150/151 are clutch stuff for the 4 speed. The better id's that would be worth turning on, is the 199/19D.
What tuning software you using, apparently hpt wont load tunes without an ecu... unless its a "dodgy" version.

how have you been going with this?
Pretty sure they pushed out the T43/6L80 into the official firmware now.
