has anyone ever successfully programmed the flash chip out of a vx vy ecu?

im not having any luck with my mini pro programmer, tried a brand new amd am29f010b and some chips i have removed from bricked ecu's

i get a few second through the write before it errors out and aborts

i pulled a chip from a ecu i programmed in the car and then read it and opened it in tuner pro and the tune is correct

so it is reading properly just cannot write!

i downloaded the latest software for the unit and it required a firmware update, after the update my programmer was bricked.

i looked online and found that the company who made the original unit made the firmware on the software brick my unit because it is a non genuine unit. i did not know that it was not genuine and now i have lost my programmer that i was using for many years!

address 1AF buffer C1 data FF. It means it wrote address 0-1AE OK, then 1AF didn't write and failed the verify. So that probably means one or more of the pins (likely but not necessarily an address pin) isn't connecting properly and the chip isn't functioning correctly in the programmer. I've done a lot of chips and when this sort of stuff happens, I check connections, re-seat chips, push my finger on it to try and see if a bit of pressure might make the connection good for a write attempt, etc.

i was able to put it in boot mode and re flash a old working firmware back into it and revived it!
