Hey, rather small question: When one is changing out 5.3 in an 06-07 express van, and putting in replacement 4.8 that came from 06-07 Silverado, then the two engines have different MAF sensors. Airbox(and therefore MAF) and wiring would be easier to keep van originals. Is that ok?
My logics would say to use silverado 4.8 PCM.

van MAF doesnt flow as much as a truck MAF. if your not looking for performance or power just stick with the van MAF since the ECU is already calibrated for that one. if you switch to the truck MAF you have to get the MAF mapping from the truck ECU and port it into your vans mapping for it to run correctly.altraditional wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 12:34 am Hey, rather small question: When one is changing out 5.3 in an 06-07 express van, and putting in replacement 4.8 that came from 06-07 Silverado, then the two engines have different MAF sensors. Re: 2006-07 chevy truck vs. van MAF
I know a 2003 2500 express van had a 5.3, did not know 06 van has 5.3 liter. I work on 2 2006 vans with both 4.8L 2500. If you need something I might be able to help with a file or something.
