Temp and tps gauge erratic

Post by Brad7860 »

Hi all I have just installed a NVRAM into my vr 082 ecu car starts up but the tps and the engine coolant temp gauges in tuner pro are moving from zero to maxed out causing the car to rev up and down without even pushing the gas. The car idled fine without the NVRAM. Any ideas what it could be ? Thanks

Would that still affect the way the car runs not being plugged into tuner pro ? Seems to run the same unplugged also

no it wouldnt affect car running if electrics / sensors / fuel system / hatdware / tune are all right. Thats the one setting people mostly get wrong that causes data to all look wrong and jump around when everything else is right. could be wrong adx if it mismatches bin.

It’s weird because if I swap the memcal in place of the NVRAM the car idles fine

Have you verified the calibration on the nvram? It might be corrupted and need to be re-loaded.

There must be something different about it. Does that also check out on the memcal one to confirm they have the same calibration? In the data list views do they both show the system is configured for the same an correct number of cylinders?

The memcal is a factory v8 one I had a look in the data list on tuner pro and it shows 8 cylinders
