It does look very interesting. I just ordered a 28 pin one to have a play with it in all that spare time that doesn't exist. haha. Might be something to look at in the coming months.

The creator (piers) has been considereing designing a new 28 pin version based on RP2350B which will have more available io pins, but these current ones should be enough to play around with to get an idea.

Well on the bench TunerPro RT connects to it.
Able to read/write with VR 32k bins.
Chucked the onerom into the old GQ-4X, dumped it, compared to original bin, files identical (can read/verify in an eprom poprgrammer, but trying to program will let the magic smoke out).

Using the firmware OneRom-ALPHA firmware from here https://github.com/alpha-tuning/OneRom-ALPHA

Keep in mind this is all new and still in development, project is only about 10 months old from what i've seen.

Upon further investigation the rom type is set to 27256 with the alpha-tuning firmware, unfortunately the ALPHA source code isn't released so no easy way to change the emulated rom type to 27512 to support larger bin files and retain the moates emulation (yet).
The original onerom tools from the creator don't recognise the modded firmware as a known device.
Still it's looking promising.

Well that's enough to run 12P without an issue, but for later auto PCMs, yes the 512 will be needed.

The joys of new toys.
Well Tunerpro can upload/read/verify BJKS 32k.
Upload fails with BLCD (stock) and 12P 32k bins.

Found a hex address in a uf2 dump to change eprom type but still fails uploading 64k bins even though it changes to emulate a 27512.

Issue is the honda firmware is only a uf2 drag and drop upload to the onerom.
Unfortunately this file/source isn't available anywhere to simply use the stock onerom tools to build an image and upload custom rom images.
There is a much more tedious method to incorporate a holden bin into it, and as much fun as manually cutting and pasting hex is I've calculated about 200 cut and past operations to do it this way.
This missing file would be the key to open up so much more.

Thinking VS/VT memcals with the 32 pin onerom would work.

(Edited to remove some reverse engineering info given the recent announcement by the OneROM-ALPHA creator)

Uh-oh. Clones again.
But lately, I’ve been seeing more clone-style boards pop up using the OneROM footprint, older Bluetooth modules, breakout-style layouts, and their own branding while benefiting from open-source work and firmware development that was never meant to be used that way.

In this video, I talk honestly about where I’m at with OneROM ALPHA, whether I should keep releasing public firmware updates, how copycats affect support for Piers and the original OneROM hardware, and why this situation has pushed me toward focusing harder on the ALPHA Emulator as its own platform.

This is not about stopping people from learning or building cool things. That is what open source is supposed to encourage. This is about credit, respect, support, and whether creators can keep sharing their work without watching it get repackaged and sold back to the same community

Hopefully he is still willing to share the source for us to extend it and use it on holdens. I think we are the target audience for the code. We are not the people he is frustrated about.

Was thinking much the same, piers is happy for anyone to take his design and change it to their hearts content providing they credit him and publicly release the mods, I guess that's where it begins.
Already have roughed out board designs incorporating the ttl level shifting needing to hand solder some components to it, but then making it easier for the shit people in the world to just copy it if i do as the licence requires.
